Archie's next door neighbors, the Jeffersons - ended up 'moving on up to the East Side' with their television show "The Jeffersons." Bea Arthur also appeared on the show as Edith's cousin, Maude. She was a great source of conflict with Archie with her liberal opinions. She must have impressed audiences, because "Maude" got her own show in 1972.
