Professor Utonium tried to make the perfect little girls in his lab. He had the essential ingredients: Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice. While he was mixing the batter, the globe of Chemical X above the pot broke and the contents spilled into the mixture. Thus the Power Puff Girls were born.

During the day the go to Pokey Oaks Day Care where they have an emergency phone so if the Mayor calls for help they can go right away. In a later episode it was shown that Mojo Jojo was the reason the Chemical X spilled into the mixture, so he helped make the Power Puff Girls.
