IS A TURTLE?
Turtles
and Tortoises - reptiles recognized by a hard shell
which encloses all of the internal organs of their
body.Turtles have been around on our planet since
the Triassic Period, that is about 200 million years
ago ( it makes them older than the great dinosaur
groups.
There
are more than 250 species of turtles , of which the
majority lives in the tropical zones.
